The Institute of Professional Auctioneers & Valuers (IPAV) is a professional representative body for auctioneers, valuers and estate agents nationwide. IPAV’s main aim is to promote and protect the professional standards of its members and to provide the public with a guarantee of professional service. One of the most important ways of ensuring such professional standards is through our education programmes which we have designed to meet the needs of a modern property market.

Our courses prepare students for sales by auction, tender or private treaty of all types of property and commodities. They also prepare students to act as valuers, property managers, arbitrators in property disputes, expert witnesses in courts of law and provide other property-related services.

In addition to careers in auctioneering and estate agency firms, many of our newly-trained graduates are also finding rewarding careers in the property departments of banks, building societies, insurance companies, commercial institutions, semi-state bodies and in the case of our courses in the Fine and Decorative Arts, fine art auctioneering, art galleries and antique shops.
