Applications are now being taken for this year’s Certificate Course in the Fine and Decorative Arts, organised by the Institute of Professional Auctioneers & Valuers.

This very popular part-time course attracts students from a wide spectre. The 15-week course is run at IPAV Headquarters, 129 Lower Baggot St., Dublin 2 on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6.30pm to 9.30pm, with two lectures per night. The course commences Tuesday 7 February 2006.

This part-time certificate course is ideal for people who have an interest in the Fine and Decorative Arts and who may wish to develop and sustain knowledge picked up in a haphazard manner over the years. No educational background in this area is required.

The topics covered include the Histories of Painting, Furniture, Architecture, Silver, Glass, and related topics. The fee for the course is €750.
