Well-known Dublin estate agent Seán Mason
is the new President of the Institute of Professional Auctioneers
and Valuers. Mr Mason was elected at the recent AGM in the Dunraven
Arms Hotel Adare, Co Limerick and he succeeds former President Willie
Farrell
A native of Thurles, Co. Tipperary, Mr Mason was
educated by the Christian Brothers where he was also a keen hurling
enthusiast. Having taken an Arts degree at University College, Cork,
he taught for 19 years firstly in Nenagh and later at Oatlands College,
Stillorgan, Co. Dublin
In 1987 he set up Mason Estates which has grown
and developed into one of Dublin’s largest agencies with nine
offices in Dublin and Meath. In 1996, he set up Mason Financial Services
which is one of the largest mortgage providers in the country.
Mr Mason was elected to IPAV’s National
Council in 1996 and has served as Treasurer and Vice-President.
In his address to delegates in Adare, Mr Mason
said he was delighted to announce that the Institute’s membership
had broken the 800 barrier for the first time and was on target to
reach 1,000 within a year.
“The success of our Institute can be gauged
nowhere more clearly than from our fast increasing membership,”
he said. “Over the last 35 years or so, IPAV has grown and transformed
itself to become the very vibrant organisation it is today.”
