To apply for IPAV membership please read the following guidelines and contact IPAV on 01-678 5685 for an application form.
 
Membership – MIPAV
Applicants who have completed IPAV’s full or part time Certificate in Auctioneering & Estate Agency (or similar course approved by the Institute) and gained a minimum of two years full time industry experience (with an auctioneer/estate agency practice approved by the IPAV National Executive) may apply.

Applicants who have obtained IPAV’s Diploma in Property Management and Valuation (or similar) may apply following one year’s experience.

Applicants who hold a BSc (Hons) in Property Management and Valuation (or similar) may apply for membership immediately.

In all cases applicants trading on their own behalf, in partnership, or similar arrangement must have completed a minimum of three years in practice.

Applicants who have not completed an IPAV educational course (or similar course approved by the Institute) should have a minimum of ten years experience in a practice acceptable to the Institute.

 

Student Membership – IPAV Student
Full time IPAV students are automatically granted Licentiate Membership, and on completion of their course they may apply to continue this category of Membership as follows:

Graduates of the Certificate in Auctioneering & Estate Agency may apply to continue their Licentiate Membership for a further two years while working a practice acceptable to the Institute

Graduates of the Diploma in Property Management & Valuation may apply to continue their Licentiate Membership for a further one year while working a practice acceptable to the Institute

 
Affiliate Membership – MIPAV Affiliate
Affiliate membership is designed to accommodate members of good standing in an analogous profession who must not be practising as an auctioneer or an estate agent while remaining an affiliate member.
 
Northern Ireland Membership – MIPAV(NI)
Residents of Northern Ireland who wish to apply for membership must have completed this Institute’s Certificate in Auctioneering and Estate (or similar course approved by the Institute) or have appropriate experience.

Residents of Northern Ireland must practice solely in Northern Ireland or the UK and if practicing in the Republic must apply for Associate Membership.
 

Overseas Membership – MIPAV(OS)
Admittance to Overseas membership is entirely at the discretion of the National Executive.


The National Executive shall have full discretion as to the admission of the applicants and no applicant shall be admitted as a Member unless he/she has first satisfied the National Executive as to his/her professional efficiency. The National Executive shall in their absolute discretion be entitled to refuse admission to any candidate without assigning any reason therefore.
