On April 18 2018, one day before the final vote in a plenary session of the European Parliament, MEPs held a debate on the Fifth Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Directive.

  • New Company Law Rules

On 25 April the Commission published proposed new company rules to make it easier for companies to merge, divide or move within the Single Market.

  • New Standards on Transparency and Fairness for Online Platforms

On 26 April the Commission published a proposal for a regulation to increase fairness and transparency for online platforms.

  • Implementation of the General Data Protection Package

The General Data Protection Package includes the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) which becomes applicable across the EU on 25 May 2018, and the Data Protection Law Enforcement Directive which had to be transposed into national law by 6 May 2018.
