IPAV Appoints New Chief Executive Officer
The Board of IPAV, the Institute of Professional Auctioneers & Valuers, today announced the appointment of Genevieve McGuirk as its new Chief Executive, following a competitive process.
She takes over the role from Pat Davitt who announced his intention to retire from the position some time ago following 12 years at the helm.
Genevieve McGuirk has been Chief Operations Manager at IPAV where she has worked for 10 years and leads the institute’s comprehensive system of professional education and development, among other responsibilities.
Having completed her property studies at Technological University Dublin, she worked as Senior Negotiator in residential sales with Savills, among other roles.
Speaking on behalf of IPAV, President Fintan McGill said the board looks forward to working with Genevieve as she leads the overall management and strategic direction at the institute in the years ahead.
“She will, no doubt, leverage her leadership, strategic thinking and operational expertise to drive forward IPAV’s increasingly influential role in the industry, at a time when housing is the declared number one priority of Government, impacting the social and economic fabric of the country.
“She comes with a track record in organisational efficiency, team performance and critically for a representative organisation, member engagement,” he said.
Mr McGill paid a warm tribute to outgoing CEO Pat Davitt saying he has made an enormous and unparalleled contribution to the institute.
“We owe Pat a debt of gratitude for not only growing the organisation, but also contributing to national policy, speaking truth to power in terms of property dynamics and fostering an important international dimension,” he said.
The new CEO will take up her position with effect from 1st of August 2025.
